Alex has been teaching writing and oral communication courses at HHU’s English department since 20011. She took over from Kate Butkus, a former lecturer who discovered podcasting as a spoken language-learning tool in 2011 and got wildly excited. Successfully infecting her colleagues, this blog is the result of Kate’s efforts. As a teaching method combining creativity with the nitty-gritty of phonetics has been fun and effective, and the instructors never cease to be surprised by what students create.

Podcasting Lecturers

Alex isn’t the only lecturer who teaches the podcasting class. Apart from the initiator Kate Butkus, it has been taught by Susan Dostert, Matt Emery, Harun Rathore, and Abigail Dunn. For more information, check out the Anglistik Sprachpraxis Team.
